Tenacious Faith

I think I speak for many when I say having faith and maintaining the level of faith daily is a very difficult thing to do.

I always wonder how does one FULLY live on faith, when you do not have a single ounce of worry within you because you know God WILL come through for you.

I know that it is not impossible, but I know it is difficult – I mean, I struggle with it too.

As I was sitting on my computer, the word ‘Tenacious’ came up. I then googled the word and tried to understand where this word is coming from (obviously God, but why?)

Google explains:
Tenacious means to keep a firm hold of something.

And then it made sense… TENACIOUS FAITH.

I then tried to get a more ‘spiritual’ meaning for this word.

‘’To be tenacious in our faith, we must keep a firm hold of our faith every day in ALL situations. We cannot become distracted.’’

I shared this topic in bible study, and the more I spoke about it the more I realized what God was trying to say.

He wants us to have tenacious faith, the type of faith where we hold on no matter how things look, to fully rely on God and believe His promises.

And I don’t want to sound like the cliché blogger that speaks about faith, knowing well that it is difficult for the one to have faith when they are in a very dark space where they feel like they cannot come out of.

I’m reminded about the book of Samuel, where Hannah, the barren woman, prayed to God to conceive a son. She chose to cry out to God for a son, even whilst she was being mocked because of her barrenness. She chose to continue believing that her prayer will come true. She had the kind of faith that no one understood, some even thought that she was drunk. The despair that Hannah felt because of her physical barrenness could have crippled her faith. But, she continued to weep and pray for her miracle.

Your situations should not dictate your relationship with God.

We should be stubborn in faith and unshakeable!

We should hold onto our faith with such tenacity that we are unshakable when it comes to following Jesus, continuously seeking His guidance, and stubbornly persistent.

It is time for us to stop being timid and meek, but to fully rely on God and believe the word of God, for He does not make empty promises.

Matthew 21:22 And Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God.
