In light of last week’s topic, I wanted to go deeper in terms of the mind and share my thoughts and opinion.
As mentioned before, our thoughts have a big impact on our lives.
Romans 12 says that ‘’Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.’’ Another word for renewing is ‘RENOVATE’.
When doing a renovation, it means that you want to change the appearance of something; perhaps something is broken, damaged, or needs to be updated/ replaced.
Perhaps we need to start some renovation in our minds. Many times, we hold onto past traumas or have not dealt with it yet.
Or, we are still walking around with old recordings of what people did to us in the past, something bad that was said, etc.
I can attest that dealing with trauma is not the easiest thing to do, but it is an important thing that needs to be addressed.
This is where anxiety creeps in and cripples us, we over-analyze things, we think of the worst things that could possibly go wrong and we start believing that we are going through these things alone.
If we want to live freely, without any bondage weighing us down, we need to start in the mind. Let go of the negative thoughts as well as the things that negatively feed us for example bad company.
Reflect on those thoughts and use Philippians 4:8 as a guide to testing your thoughts.
Is it true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise?
‘’When we fill our thoughts with the right things, the wrong ones have no room to enter’’ – Joyce Meyer
Let’s do some renovation in the mind, clean out the negative thoughts and replace them with healthy, positive thoughts, and keep the door shut for the toxic ones – IT IS NO LONGER WELCOME!
