Grateful In The Pandemic

While I was preparing to start writing, I reflected on myself and my emotional state. I asked myself what kind of emotion am I currently feeling. And I realized that I am immensely grateful.

As we are entering the festive season, the Christmas songs and props awaken a cheerful spirit within us.

And it hits me, WOW, it is December 2020. What a year it has been!

We are still currently facing a pandemic. With so much that this year has thrown at us, retrenchments, the closing of businesses, loss of loved ones, etc. I realize how privileged we are to still be living in these trying times.

Even in these difficult times, we have a reason to be grateful. We are still free to have gratitude for the small and even big things.

I believe that as long as we have a pulse, we have a purpose; while we still have breath in our lungs, we have a reason to live.

This has been one tough year for all of us, and the world can tell us many things, but it is only God’s grace that has kept us thus far. With all the bad things happening around us, let us make use of the time and reflect on the positive.

If it was not for God’s grace, where would we have been?

Psalm 9:1 reminds us to tell of God’s goodness. ‘’I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.’’

In this season of exchanging gifts, let’s gift someone with prayer, love, and make them feel welcome and appreciated.

There are so many materialistic things that go with this season, this year has been hard on many, especially financially.

In any way or form, let us be a blessing to someone.

And let us never forget the true meaning of this season.
